Have received a random credit into my bank account for £36.12 ref HMCTS/centralised - but have no idea what it is for. How can I find out.
Have you managed to find out what the payment was for?
I have received 2 payments of £6.46 from HMCTS/Centralised yesterday, which is a Bank Giro Credit payment. I contacted HM's Court on multiple numbers and no one has any idea what it is for. They suggested contacting my council and courts near me if I have not received a letter and see if they have any idea. They didn't either.
I am very confused about this as I have not been to court or been sent any letters. Would be helpful to see if anyone else has dealt with this.
Are you the victim of any crime for which you may have been awarded compensation? Courts have a longer than usual backlog at the moment, so it could be something from over a year ago that you have forgotten. If the convicted person paid in instalments, you would also receive the money in instalments.

Not that I know of, recently anyway. Last time I went to court was in June 2017 with my ex husband for domestic abuse and he pleaded guilty. I remember them sending me a letter about a £150 compensation then, which I never received after claiming. It is a little bit odd that it would come 4 years later and in £6 installments.
I have emailed them to find out more about this.
